Digg v3 requires login to view some stories
June 26th, 2006 by adminUPDATE: Login is only required for the new, “beta” categories. This has been pointed out my many digg commenters.
So I cruise by digg.com to see the much-anticipated v3.0. Everything’s cool, but then I notice that clicking on some stories requires you to login. Perhaps this is in response to the stories about social freeloaders on sites such as this one. Regardless, I’m not a big fan of required login (though I am registered), especially for a news site that’s designed for quick scans of the front-page articles. Clicking on several unpromoted stories redirected me to digg.com/login, a page saying ”

I wish I could get a screenshot, but in OSX here at work, I haven’t the slightest clue how.
