<p>So I cruise by digg.com to see the much-anticipated v3.0.  Everything&#8217;s cool, but then I notice that clicking on some stories <em>requires </em>you to login.  Perhaps this is in response to the stories about social freeloaders on sites such as this one.  Regardless, I&#8217;m not a big fan of required login (though I am registered), especially for a news site that&#8217;s designed for quick scans of the front-page articles.  Clicking on several unpromoted stories redirected me to digg.com/login, a page saying &#8221;</p>
